Intel, Micron, Hynix make waves in NAND flash market

Report says everything is whopping

MARKET RESEARCH firm Isuppli said that in the NAND desperation derby, Hynix Semi, Micron and Intel are the top nags in the race.

Hynix, said Isuppli, delivered revenues of $806 million in the third quarter and that's a 79.1 per cent rise compared to calendar quarter two.

Micron (symbol µ), flogged $285.4 millions worth of kit, up by 75.5 per cent.

Intel managed to boost its NAND revenue by 47.9 per cent to get to $132 million.

Nam Hyung Kim, director at Isuppli, said Samsung's market share declined. Mind you, its NAND revenues were $1.7 billion but it slipped down the charts to hold 40.2 per cent, compared to 45.4 per cent in the second calendar quarter. µ
