Illuminated keyboard casts light on your digits

SPIKE KWON, an inventor from Korea, e-mailed us with details of his new keyboard concept, which just got the stamp of approval from WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation).

The concept is simple. Rather than use the expensive LED lighting beneath every key, like Logitech's G15 gaming keyboard, Spike's invention calls for a foldable illuminator. Located at the top of the keyboard, this bar of LED light gives enough illumination for the keys in a conventional way, and can be produced far cheaper than any current products on the market, or at least that is his hope.

The keyboard tags on the current wave of shaving power consumption, and this should allow you to tip and tap away in gloomy environments. Pair this with a Kentsfield-powered machine and two 8800GTX in SLI and you can pretend you are worried about CO2 emissions. µ
