Xbox overheating solved

First liquid-cooled Xbox 360 shown off
Monday, 2 January 2006, 08:55
WHILE THE INQ expeditionary force is winging its way to the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show, those of us who are left at the office are starting to get press releases for things that they might get to have a look at.

One of the more interesting we've found is being billed as the first liquid cooled Xbox360. Microsoft had a few problems last year with punters complaining that their Xbox's tended to overheat easier than a solar powered Prescott chip on the planet Mercury.

CoolIT Systems has designed a retrofit product that will transform the stock forced air cooling system with a state-of-the-art liquid-chilled system. There are some natty pictures here, but I suspect the INQ team will probably be more interested in the USB beverage chiller the same outfit makes. ยต
