AMD downgraded over pricing war
Wed Jul 05 2006, 16:21
SHARES OF Intel (tick: INTC) and AMD (tock: AMD) fell in early trading as Wall Street got back from its long weekend.

Shortly after opening, AMD was down 43 cents to stand at $24.17, while Intel fell 24 cents to $19.12.

UBS downgraded AMD because analysts think Intel will put it under pressure. It thinks the new Intel cores will force AMD to drop prices on its Opteron products.

ATI (tick: ATYT) stood at $14.78, up six cents, while Nvidia (tock: NVDA) fell by 67 cents to $20.93.

Microsoft (tick: MSFT) was down 27 cents to $23.43, while Google (tock: GOOG) was down by nearly $5 to stand at $418.22.

Broadcom (tick: BRCM) was down 92 cents to $29.85, Transmeta was at $1.60, while Rambus (tick: RMBS) was up $1.88 to $24.65, probably because it re-licensed elements of its technology to Toshiba. µ
