Red Hat's Desktop spin

GROOVY LINUX FIRM Red Hat has announced that it is going to release its desktop version in a few days and this will be a return to the desktop for the company. However theinquirer.net hears of a wizard way of getting it now and for free.

A Finish Red Hat dealer Lineox, here, has offered the software on its site.

How? Well it is because Red Hat Linux's enterprise desktop is already on the market and the announcement of the company's return to the desktop was mostly spin.

According to Lineox the enterprise desktop software is just a version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 with some program packages removed and some added.

According to Lineox: "Even if Red Hat doesn't mention it, we are quite certain that Red Hat Desktop includes also all the updates published for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 up to about the end of April."

So all you need to do is download Lineox Enterprise Linux 3.0 and register to Lineox Enterprise Linux 3.0 update service.

Then you install all the available updates and skip the update phase. Next you may want to remove the program packages which are not in Red Hat Desktop and then download and install the packages that are added to Red Hat Desktop.

Famous kids show Blue Peter will probably chat amiably to UK children about a bit later, and include a mockup. µ
