Tyan causes tempest in Intel teapot

SERVER MOBO firm Tyan said it has released the Tempest i5400XT workstation board, as part of a programme Intel is pushing.

The “Intel Qualified Server Board” programme is aimed at customers who want tested, proven and reliable server products.

So what is the pilot phase? Tyan said the Tempest supports Intel Xeon 5400 CPUs and chipset, providing up to 12MB of level two cache.

The dual socket board has eight memory slots as well as Firewire on the mobo. µ

been running a 5397 tempest w/dual quad penryns for over a month now. sweet board. and yes, they are all that, and a bag of chips ;) tyan did good.
