Universal sues two video sites

You Tube not one of them

FILM STUDIO Universal is suing two video sharing sites for breaching its copyrights.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, "Grouper" and "Bolt" have both received cease and desist notices from Universal as part of a much anticipated attack on video sharing sites.

However, Universal seems to have stayed clear of launching a legal attack against the incredibly popular You Tube, which offers a similar sort of service.

Apparently this is because You Tube, bought by Google, signed a content licensing agreement with the studio.

Universal said that it tried to reach a similar deal with Grouper and Bolt, but was rebuffed. Bolt said it had yet to receive a copy of the lawsuit, but added that it has always complied with music companies' requests to remove any copyright video.
