EVERY NOW AND THEN I click open those competition emails that I get in my inbox. This time it was an Evga 'Design your own avatar contest!'. Cool, my brother has great skills with a tablet and pen, let me see if I’m eligible (being European 'n' all).
Ah… here it is… the mandatory legal blah-blah. Nothing on eligibility. Just a warning that, 'Entries that are lewd, obscene, pornographic or otherwise inappropriate to the Contest will be disqualified at Google's sole discretion'.
Google? Shorely some mistake.
Well, the remainder of the legal text is full of typos and obvious Cut and Paste sections like someone snipped bits here and there replacing them with necessary references to Evga.
We, being the curious cats we are, and just to make sure Evga could've done no such thing, typed in that particular bit of the terms and conditions in Google and... good grief... (give it a go).
Saving a buck on legal fees, are we?
Oh, and in no way is this a viral campaign promoting Evga's 'Design your own avatar' contest!, mmmkay?
It just isn't.

You mean, people really read the Terms and Conditions?
Europeans usually get the short end of the stick on competitions as they are usually for "American residents"
The prize ain't that special. Core 2 Duo E8400, 2Gb DDR2 800, 250 Gb SATA, humph my energy saving ubuntu cube is more powerful than that.
