CES 007 Cell Wii is surprising
Sunday, 7 January 2007, 05:45
FOR THE first time in 10 years, IBM has an exhibit booth on the show floor at CES.

It will be showing off what it thinks is the future in gaming, cellular, and mobile machines.

Visitors can expect to see the interactive PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii as well as the Microsoft XBox 360 demos. IBM executives, who were responsible for collaborating with all three companies, respectively, on developing the brains of these gaming platforms, will be present to provide insight and analysis into the science behind gaming today.

More than a dozen different client examples of cellular phones, medical devices, speech recognition and speech translation solutions built on IBM technology and engineering innovations will be shown off during the show.

Two of the more unusual products to be demonstrated at the booth include the Xing karaoke devices and a cell phone clipping service.

A 3D Virtual world demo called “Second Life”, will be demonstrated. The tool allows clients to bring virtual reality a bit nearer to real life. CES attendees will be able to interact in a virtual intra-world and view the progress of multiple virtual “Second Life” worlds. µ
