Jobs says Zune sharing is silly

Better to tie your woman down

WHILE WE DON'T expect Apple Supremo Steve Jobs to be an active supporter of Microsoft's iPod clone Zune, he is a little revealing in what he finds wrong with it.

Jobs was quoted in Newsweek as claiming that Zune is no threat to the iPod because its much touted wireless facility is too slow to use it to pick up girls.

Steve said that he has seen the demonstrations on the Internet about how you can find another person using a Zune and give them a song they can play three times. But Jobs said that it took forever. By the time you've gone through all that, "the girl's got up and left!"

He said that you are better off to take one of your earbuds out and put it in her ear. Then you're connected with about two feet of headphone cable, he said.

Yes, there is nothing like being connected to a girl by two feet of headphone cable, it makes sure that they can't run away. Nothing says romance more than sharing your ear wax. We guess if you have a bit of cash, like Steve, women are a bit more happy to have you shove things in their ears.

Jobs' focus on the girl-chasing iPod bloke market, seems to be ignoring the fact that Wireless gaming is well established in Japan and is getting stronger in the US, where the Nintendo DS has two million users.

Zune might be rubbish, but Jobs should be aware that competition is all about difference between your rivals. Therefore it seems he is a little worried about these differences between Zune and his iPod cash cow.
