We showed the results of a number of standard tests run on a particular configuration of FX53-powered PC.
Since this chip looks set to be officially unleashed in a few hours time, we thought we'd compare those benchmarks to others published for AMD's current 64-bit flagship, the FX51.
We managed to get three sets of figures, running: 3DMark2001, 3DMark 2003 and Aquamark3.
Other sites have run similar tests on 2.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 FX-51 systems.
Where running 3DMark 2001 on our FX53-powered system produced a score of 20,490, Hardocp only rated an FX51 at 18,297 in similar tests, here. The Hexers, however, squeezed 20,071 3D2001Marks out of their FX51 system, here. Even this impressive total is overshadowed by that of the system sporting AMD's new chip.
XBit Labs ran 3Dmark 2003 on their FX51 system to produce a score of 6102, here. Our FX53 managed 6059. Their Aquamark3 rating on the FX51 was 42,700, our FX53 scored 43,800.
