THE MAKER of exploding batteries, Sony, says that it is on target to ship more than 2 million PlayStation 3 consoles by the end of the year.

According to Associated Press, Sony President Ryoji Chubachi scotched rumours that the outfit would not meet its production targets for the year-end shopping season.

He admitted that availability has been a bottleneck, but Sony's targets were achievable and the outfit did need to revise its shipment targets.

Sony should be able to manage its shipment target of six million PS3s ready by March next year.

One day it might even launch it in Europe, if we were really good, Chubachi said. More here. µ
