I'd like to have a fling with Eva Glass. Please send photo
AUSSIE BOFFINS have worked out a way to speed up the Internet by 100 times by using just a piece of scratched glass.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the boffins working for the University of Sydney say it will be possible to download the latest movie in a few seconds thanks to their wizardry.
Basically, the boffins use a photonic integrated circuit to stops gridlock in optical fibres. Currently these log jams have to be processed by slower electronic components.
Ben Eggleton, the director of the university's Centre for Ultrahigh bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems, CUDOS said that the most exciting thing is that it is just a piece of scratched glass. It is very simple and cheap.
The chip is made from chalcogenide, with tiny channels etched into the surface by lithographic techniques. The scratches on the surface of the glass acted as a guide or switch for incoming data.
He said the thumbnail-sized device could be commercialised within five years and used in countries such as Japan, which is "way ahead of Australia" in installing high speed fibre networks. ยต

Five years? by that time politician have stifled internet so much that we only need dialup speed. if we still have internet.

They are going to win because they use unfair ways, actually they are just cheating over us.

W is right, politicians are doing so wrong all over the world. I don't know about Australia, but in France, in the Uk, also at European level, some really terribly wrong texts are being voted under the pressure of lobbies. We end up with the Internet turned into a private network. Microsoft dreamt of it in 1995 but our politicians are doing it now.
If lobby pressure is not good enough, they are not shy to go to higher level. In France cable operator Numericable is owned by Carlyle group since a few months. Half brother of french president was hired by Carlyle one month later. One month later again, Numericable was offered exclusive access to 10 millions homes.
Numericable is a very poor company, technically.
Only corruption can explain why they are offered the first position.

People from Europe, don't let politicians ruin our future.
Go to this page and act now.

If I were one of those guys, I'd be checking my brake lines before I got in the car.
How can it take 5 years to commercialise something that is "is very simple and cheap"?
