Nintendo pins hopes on broad appeal

NINTENDO decided to target the elderly and young women with its super soaraway new Wii.

According to Bloomberg, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said that a large chunk of the marketing will be spent trying to get women and the elderly to use the machines.

The company reckons rivals Sony and Microsoft have been too hung up about the technology that goes into their boxes and have forgotten about the games.

Nintendo believes its nicely-priced console will appeal to a wider range of users and it says it has the games to keep older folk, and even girls happy.
