ATI new X1650 PRO to launch in August

Probably at German shindig
Wed Jul 19 2006, 13:08
WE CAN confirm that ATI's X1650 PRO is set to launch on the 23rd of August, just a day before the public part of the upcoming gaming convention in Leipzig, Germany, starts.

We strongly suspect that ATI plans to introduce its X1950 XTX cards at the event and both cards should be available at launch.

The X1650 PRO should cost $129 in retail and is set to replace the existing X1600 PRO cards. We expect them to use the RV535 PRO, 80 nanometre core.

It is unclear as yet if this card is the one we know under the codename Guinness, which is clocked at 500MHz core and 800MHz memory. µ
