Apple takes Microsoft's crown for shonky software
THE TRUE AND FAITHFUL Apple religion has been found wanting by heretics at IBM who claim that its software is more holey than holy.
Apple has long been peddling as gospel that its software is far better designed than that of Vole. Its fan boys must chant it as a mantra before they turn on their fruit-themed machines.
Now it turns out that Apple has taken the place of Microsoft for disclosing more vulnerabilities than any other vendor.
Meanwhile Vole has dropped to third place behind the open source content management system Joomla.
According to the IBM X-Force 2008 mid-year report, Apple had a vulnerability disclosure score of 3.2 percent, followed by Joomla with 2.7 percent and Microsoft at 2.5 percent.
Big Blue was fourth, followed by Sun, a newcomer to the top five, while Oracle and Cisco fell from their former positions to sixth and seventh respectively.
Microsoft is still the most exploitable maker of software, followed by Hewlett Packard and Apple. The three vendors accounted for about half of all exploits found in the Top Ten list. ยต

Isn't there a difference between bugs and vulnerabilities? One causes the system to behave in unintended or undesirable ways and the other allows the system to be compromised. Inaccurate title methinks
Charlie, I can never see for the life of me, why you would keep such a pretender journalist, such as this Nick Farrell. Is this the kind of web site that you're intending? Becouse, despite the numeras spelling and grammer errors, he is never satiated untill he gets his daily Apple bash. Now he portends that Microsoft ware are better then Apple. Everbody knows, that Mightysoft, would not be in survival if it were not for Apple. Apple have been very very good nutritious to voles. Really, Charley, what do it take?
we all know the battle between the "POD" to the "ZU" ( or for uncool old people ipod and zune.) well i do think apple is doing very well for themselfs and they have the right to take the title from microsoft ( it's not like they were doing anything with it) the "ZU" dose not compere to the "POD" and nothing "MICRO"(soft) has ever made (computer wise)will ever compare to the "MAC"
