Silverlight to go on Linux

Thanks to Mono sprint/marathon
Fri Jun 22 2007, 16:18
NOVELL STAR PROGRAMMER, Miguel de Icaza has blogged to say that a team of Mono coders has succeeded in creating a Linux/Unix plug-in version of Microsoft's Silverlight.

Silverlight is a plug-in that works across browsers and is intended to act as a bridge between internet and desktop programs. As such, it is often bracketed with efforts like Adobe Air. De Icaza is best known for his work on Mono, an implementation of .Net for Linux that is now sponsored by Novell, and for the Gnome Linux desktop project.

In true programmer style, the effort involved a marathon effort. Or should that be a sprint? De Icaza says his team worked up to 16 hours a day for 21 days. So you decide. µ
