INTEL AND PHONE firm NTT Do'h Como got together to write some specifications for multi-OS mobile phones.

The pair will release the spec at this address today.

The specification provides a second, open 'domain', which is separate from that containing the preinstalled operating system and applications, the firms said. The open domain will enable third parties to install a second OS, with browser or other software, including games.

The pair said their handset architecture teams worked pretty hard together in order to come up with the piece of paper. ยต
