INTEL AND PHONE firm NTT Do'h Como got together to write some specifications for multi-OS mobile phones.

The pair will release the spec at this address today.

The specification provides a second, open 'domain', which is separate from that containing the preinstalled operating system and applications, the firms said. The open domain will enable third parties to install a second OS, with browser or other software, including games.

The pair said their handset architecture teams worked pretty hard together in order to come up with the piece of paper. µ
