Iphone unlocking gear suffers delay

AT&T legal team swoops
Mon Aug 27 2007, 17:01
IPHONEUNLOCKING.COM, the outfit which claimed to have unlocked the Iphone, has delayed the release of its AT&T freeing SIM.

The outfit issued a statement here and claimed that it was poised and ready to release remote software unlocking services for the Iphone. However, they got a call from AT&T's briefs which threatened lawsuits for things such as copyright infringement and illegal software dissemination.

A spokesperson for the outfit said it was taking legal advice to ascertain whether AT&T was sending a warning shot or directly threatening legal action.

Until then, Uniquephones said it is unable to release the unlocking software for sale.

While it is fairly obvious that it was always going to be threatened by legal eagles from Apple or AT&T, the idea did not seem to have occurred to iPhoneunlocking.com.

So the world+dog only has iPhoneunlocking.com' word for it that it actually did unlock the iPhone. µ
