Man using laptop in car gets killed

Attention diverting
Tue Feb 27 2007, 18:35
CBS NEWS said a bloke drove onto the wrong side of the road in America and cops claimed his laptop was still running, plugged into a so-called "cigarette lighter" although he was dead.

The report said the 28 year old guy was a computer teacher and his car collided with a vehicle described as a Hummer. The folk in the "Hummer" escaped unscathed.

Today, the UK police warned people using their mobile phones in cars that they faced disqualification and worse, as we reported earlier. This is because their attention might be diverted.

But perhaps the young man had a heart attack because his boss emailed him on his Crackberry. We daresay an inquest will be inaugurated - you cannot blame laptop, mobile phone, cigarette lighter, or type of car until all the facts are ascertained. µ
