Tukwila hits an iceberg

Not only late, but slow too
Fri May 04 2007, 10:18
IT LOOKS LIKE Tukwila is showing the same greatness as its predecessor Montecito.

If you recall, that wonder chip was neutered and left to live up to the name Itanic.

Well, now word has reached out tender ears that the delayed Tukwila is also having serious speed problems. alt='itanna'It is currently looking like it it will top out at 2.1Ghz, but given the line's illustrious history, there is still time for this to drop significantly. In any case, this is a massive drop from what was promised.

Slightly more worrying is the fact that Intel people quickly change the subject when their partners bring up Poulson, never a good sign. Toss in socket compatibility with an eight core Beckton, and you have to wonder why Intel is bothering at all. Oh yeah, RAS. µ
