SIMON GAUVIN is the president of beunited.org. He says of the OpenBEOS that publicity is important. "It exposes people to the knowledge that a product exists," he proclaims in his guest editorial for the OpenBeOS newsletter. Not shy to offer a sliver of publicity to the open sourcers, we offer a link here to Simon's words of undoubted wisdom.

Ocworkbench has a look at some mobile phones, including some nice polyphonic numbers over here. We told you about polyphony over here. Further down the page, they've also got some spex and pix of Gigabyte's upcoming KT400 GA-7VAXP board.

Tech-report carries some discussion of USB peripherals and they've taken a look at Belkin's SOHO OmniView USB/Audio and IOGear's MiniView III KVM switches for comparison. Wibble over here.

German site hardwareluxx has a good long look at Intel's D850EMV i850E motherboard over here.

Tecchannel is also German, and they've posted some interesting stuff on hyperthreading over here. Adding an extra processor may make things a bit faster but it sure does bring a whole heap of new problems too, they say.

TweakTown dahn under has posted a review of a pair of Antec LED Fans. That's over here.

At the Danish website retel.dk there's a review of the R300 chip from ATi. There are actual benchmarks, they say. But it is in Danish, they warn. Still, the benchmarks don't need any translation, they say. Haf ze vibble over here.

Back with the Germans and TuningTotal.de seem to have posted a guide to keeping your mouse ship shape with GlideTapes. Have a scurry over here. Or here for a dodgy translation.

Appalled at such dodgy translations, Michael wrtites from au-ja.de to tell us they've started up an English language site, here. "In all the years we've been online," writes Michael, "I had never realised what a load of rubbish babelfish creates. I hope my English is a little bit better and some of these reviews are interesting for your readers."

Here's what's on offer in finely-crafted Englisch:

MSI's K7D Master-L (AMD 760MPX, dual Socket A) for dual Athlon MPs is over here.

There's a look at Asus's C.O.P. CPU thermal protection over here, with video, indeed.

Here's a look at MSI's KT3 Ultra RAID mobo. And there's their take on Asus's A7V333 mobo over here.

Lastly, our mates over at AMD Zone have had a birthday. It's four. Wibble over here, just to celebrate with them. Beers in a London hostelry are on you guys next time, then : )

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
