Google pulls FaceBook leak blog

Boggers told to bog off
Thu Aug 16 2007, 02:50
FACEBOOK SECRETS, the bog that published the source code for the Facebook site for people with no friends, has been shut down by Google's Blogger network, reports Tech Crunch.

The code was originally accidentally leaked by Facebook itself, so it could be argued that the code is already in the public domain, making Google's claim that the bog was shut to avoid copyright problems somewhat questionable.

A Facebook statement said that 'the reprinting of this code violates several laws', although the outfit claimed that the code contained nothing giving an 'insight into the inner workings of Facebook', which seems highly improbable.

Of course, having the code readily-available might be useful for hackers keen to elicit banking and address details from the hordes of sad inadequates signed up for Facebook. ยต
