Flood warning site flooded

Error message of the day
Thu Apr 19 2007, 09:16
ORDINARILY, INTERNET error messages are not the most useful of creatures. However when the Merrimack River in New Hampshire started flooding it was one of these that provided more information than the site itself.

Surfing over to the New England Corps of Engineers site here to gain statistics for the river you get this rather ironic message. "Bad Gateway. The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server." So, the error message tells you what is wrong with the network, but also what is wrong with the flood gateways upstream.

Network World thinks the NECE site was just flooded with traffic. Certainly the engineers can't be bothered fixing it as the error has been up for a couple days now. µ
