AMD intros improved math library

For cluster busting
Mon Apr 05 2004, 07:13
CHIP FIRM AMD said it will make version 2.0 of its Core Math Library (ACML) free for download.

The tool, for Windows and Linux, lets software developers use more memory space using the AMD64 architecture.

The library is co-developed with the Numerical Algorithms Group and increases performance for basic linear Algebraic subrouties, and fast Fourier transforms. The announcement, made to coincide with the Clusterworld conference, will improve performance for machines used for computer aided engineering, and to solve complex geophysical apps such as gas and oil exploration, AMD claimed.

There's a free download at the AMD site, here. ยต
