NEW JERSEY-BASED graphics card specialist PNY has added two new high-end graphics cards to its line-up.
Based on Nvidia's GTX200 architecture, the two new cards, according to marketeer Nichalos Mauro, are not just for gamers. "These cards broaden our scope to reach even programmers," he said, "who need to offload processing tasks from the CPU to the GPU. In fact, the GTX series delivers performance up to seven times that of a traitional CPU alone".

The cards come in two specs. The $650 280 has a gig of DDR3 frame buffer memory,
a 602 MHz core clock and a 1296 MHz shader clock. It also has a 141.7 GB/sec.
memory bandwidth, a texture fill rate of 48.2 Bil/sec and effective data rate of
2214 MHz.
The 260 has 896MB of GDDR3 frame buffer memory, a 576 MHz core clock and 1242 MHz shader clock. It also has a 111.9 GB/sec. memory bandwidth a texture fill rate of 36.9 Bil/sec and effective data rate of 2000 MHz.
Both also feature second generation Nvivia unified architechture, DirectX 10, two dual-link DVI and one HDTV output for HD 1080p display support, dual-link HDCP capability and OpenGL 2.1 support

Man you know you are getting old when you thought $300 for a top end NV or ATI graphics card was pushing it.

"DirectX 10" --> this damn powerfull GPU has only DX 10? Why not DX10.1 or DX 11?
