Sandisk introduces 32 GB CompactFlash
SANDISK HAS INTRODUCED a new 32GB Compact Flash card geared towards digital photographers and videographers.
Susan Park of Sandisk explained that high-definition camcorders often require high-capacity memory cards. According to Park, the 32GB Extreme III Compact Flash offers video professionals "longer record times and improved data transfer rates".
The new card, which features 30MB/s (200x) read and write speeds, will reportedly allow users to record up to 80 minutes of HD video at 4:2:2. The Extreme III is also capable of operating under extreme conditions, with temperatures ranging from minus 13 degrees (minus 25C) to 185 degrees (plus 85C ).
The 32GB Extreme III will be released in October and should cost around $300. ยต

HD isn't a codec. It's a resolution standard(s). So what(resolution), with 4:2:2 colour space captured to what codec give one 80min of capture?
This speed and capacity in a CF card aren't anything new. That pricetag is pretty high. 
RiData even make a faster 32gb (233x) that can be had for $120 shipping included. If you're willing to take a speed hit and drop down to 133x; you can get an A-Data 32gb CF for under $90 shipped.


The surprise to me here is that Sandisk didn't already have a 32 gig CF card with decent speed.
