Microsoft unites with Nigeria

Confidential mesage from Bill Gates
Mon Oct 17 2005, 07:37
SOFTWARE GIANT giant Microsoft is working with the Nigerian government to eliminate the 419 spam scam from that country.

Vole has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which is designed to foster cooperation to combat problems such as spam, phishing, spyware, viruses and counterfeiting.

Microsoft and the EFCC will work together to combat the problem of Internet crime through information sharing and training on Microsoft's technical expertise in this area.

They have much in common. Nigeria is embarrassed that its largest known export is 419 spam scams and Vole has a problem that holes in its software are used by spammers to distribute the stuff.
