ATI slammed for lack of Linux support

Radeon X1800 man gets bitter
Thu Feb 23 2006, 07:53
A MAN has hit out for ATI for failing to provide adequate support for its R5XX line.

Pete's Open Source Journal on Driver Heaven, said that it is five months since products have been released, but ATI is still unable to supply Linux drivers for the products.

It quotes an ATI rep as saying it may be some time before such drivers are available. The article claims that ATI is the poor relative to Nvidia on the Linux driver front.

Pete hopes here that his column is a wake up call for ATI. There's a frenzied debate going on at Rage 3D forums about this. µ
