Myspace joins the OpenID crowd

MYSPACE IS signing up to the single identity framework, OpenID.
The move comes shortly after the decision in May to allow users to share profile information on other sites.
The firm said it aims to eliminate the need for multiple user names and profiles, making it easier for both user and provider.
It make it easier for the user to log in and the provider to find out all about the user and make money out of them.
The network's senior vice president of technology, Jim Benedetto hopes that “you’ll be able to take your Myspace friends wherever you go.”
Other heavily-trafficed sites like Yahoo, AOL, and Flickr and already use OpenID. µ

A single ID and password to allow access to multiple websites. No, I don't see anything that could go wrong with that. That sound you hear is a thousand security specialists beating their heads against their keyboards.

MySpace, Yahoo!, Flickr, 

yep, they're all sites I do not use and won't be using in any foreseeable future.

As for OpenID, I'll now put that on my "suspicious intents" list.
I can't wait until I can use OpenID with my banking web site and all my credit card institutions. It's "Open"ID so it can't be hacked, be unsafe or flawed. 
Right guys? Right?
