Intel does better than Wall Street predicts

But profits slump

CHIP FIRM Intel did better than financial analysts predicted.

In its last financial quarter, Intel suffered from a 35 per cent decline in profits and a 12 per cent fall in revenues.

The firm shipped record numbers of microprocessors in the last three months. Intel's financial officer Andy Bryant said that the firm's financial performance bottomed out in the past two quarters, but he expects things to get better in the fourth quarter and throughout 2007. µ
