Broadcom warns of Q3 flatness

Inventory in the supply chain blockage
Mon Sep 13 2004, 10:24
MAJOR CHIP maker Broadcom (tick: BRCM) said that it has revised its figures for revenues in its third quarter.

It said revenues are now expected to be flat or "up slightly" compared to its second quarter revenues.

It said that it had projected revenues of between $673 million to $680 million, a rise of around six per cent sequentiually.

The reason for the flatness is excess stock within the supply chain. All of Broadcom's business groups have been affected, but the adjustments are due to a "limited number of customers within the broadband communications and mobile/wireless business groups," said the firm.

Wireless LAN and Bluetooth revenues are strong, Broadcom said. µ
