Kisses and Renderman brave INQ snapperazzi

Defcon 2005 The people of Defcon 13

OH THE PLACES you go, the people you meet. The place is Vegas, Defcon 13 to be specific, and the people I met mostly don't want to be identified, and are deathly afraid of cameras. There were a few brave individuals, I mean that in the most anti-groupthink kind of way possible, that didn't mind international publicity. Here are a few of them.

First up, meet Kisses, if you can't figure out why from the picture, you need serious help. She had by far the most attractive offering in the vendor area, and quite probably the cheapest. When it comes down to a $1 kiss or a $20 tshirt, ummm, not really a contest there is it? Even when pressed, Kisses would not go into detail about what $20 would purchase at her establishment. This being Vegas however, it can't be anywhere near as interesting as the things you are offered simply by walking up and down the strip.

Next up we have Renderman, one of the fashionplates of Defcon 13. He is sporting a loose-fitting but functional bit of sportswear. It is a new take on the Bauhaus school of fashion design, something made readily apparent by the antenna sprouting off the top. Elegant yet practical.

Renderman was looking for a rig to win the Wardriving contest with, and current off the shelf wardriving setups would have clashed with his hat. With this in mind, he made his own, and ended up with a practical setup that anyone walking behind him could operate. A fully functional two person wardriving rig without the car. No word if he won the contest yet though.µ

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
