Fire, death, badgers

DELL IS RECALLING a bunch of notebooks, something about fire and the like.

If you have a Latitude D410, D505, D510, D600, D610, D800 or D810, an Inspiron 510M, 600M, 6000, 8600, 9200, 9300, XPS Gen 2, a Dell Precision M20 or M70, and have not caught fire, you probably want to call 866-342-0011.

If you have caught fire, call 911, leave the house quickly, and then call 866-342-0011. Operators will be glad to assist you with the battery side of things, but can't do much about the fire because most are 11 time zones or so away.

If you care to read more about it, there is a page set up here, and it is a real page turner, hard to put down. If you simply want to read up on badger mating read this, pay close attention to the body weight increases part. µ

DELL Inspiron Battery explodes

My DELL laptop exploded in my office yesterday. I have informed DELL about this, but other than a 4 line mail I have got no news from anyone from DELL.

This has been one of the scariest experiences ever for me. Our entire office and all my work of the last 6 years would have all just burnt down coz of a laptop explosion. Only because it has happened to me, I am taking this very seriously as anything could have happened.. I could have even lost my eye sight.. anything.

Where are the DELL people when something as serious like this happens???
