Falwell falters over faulty web towers

Loses trademark case
Thu Aug 25 2005, 21:07
A MAN who started a web site parodying the views of self styled evangelist Jerry Falwell can carry on ripping into him, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Three judges working at the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, or Assizes as we call 'em in the UK, toppled an earlier verdict and said Christopher Lamparello can carry on cheesing off the man of god.

A lower court had said Lamparello breached the man of god's trademark rights because he created a web site that effectively misspelled Falwell's name.

Falwell's site is here, while Fallwell's site is here.

So all's swell that ends well.
