Firefox final release candidate out

Mozilla looks to version 3
Tue Oct 17 2006, 10:35
THE MOZZARELLA Foundation has released what will be the last release candidate of its latest version of Firefox 2 browser.

RC3 is the last chance for the Firefox 2 community to spot anything that is wrong with the browser before it ships.

Mike Schroepfer, vice president of engineering for the open-source Mozilla Foundation said that RC3 will be "it, the final version of the Firefox 2.0 release".

Meanwhile, the Firebadger team has started wondering what it will do about the next version of the browser, which will have the unique title of Firefox 3.

The development team assembled a brainstorming Web page here so that punters can add the features they would like to see from Firebadger in the future.

Apparently, the Mozzarella Foundation wants to release version 3.0 late next year.

For you British-English speaking users, here's a direct link to the Windows build, Linux build, and Mac build. µ
