Centrino 4 will come with vPro features

IDF Santa Rosa to corporatise notebooks

EVEN VPRO SCEPTICS are now seeing that this fancily-launched marchitecture offers severe benefits to the corporate sector. However, vPro is a desktop platform and Intel is pretty much aware of the fact that many of the businesses run hundreds or even thousands of notebook computers, so we were not surprised to see Intel showing its Discover, Protect and Heal concept.

Santa Rosa, or the upcoming Centrino generation 4, will feature professional tools for administration, manageability and security for notebooks, just like as its desktop counterpart.

Intel plans to woo CTOs and system administrators by offering them full control of the corporate fleet, giving them tools to have solid numbers when conducting corporate battles with different sections of organisation, such as CFOs and accounting departments.

It is yet to be seen what will DAAMIT offer to counter vPro offensive, but after seeing the joint DAAMIT-Nvidia Corporate Platform, it seems that DAAMIT will have to step up a bit to be on the same level as Intel. ยต
