LSI Logic buys Agere for $4 billion

US FIRM LSI picked up Agere Systems in a share deal estimated to be worth approximately $4 billion.

Ex-Intel chieftain Abhi Talwalkar will stay as CEO and president of LSI.

Since he took over there, LSI Logic has been somewhat more dynamic than it was in previous years. µ
