LSI Logic buys Agere for $4 billion

US FIRM LSI picked up Agere Systems in a share deal estimated to be worth approximately $4 billion.

Ex-Intel chieftain Abhi Talwalkar will stay as CEO and president of LSI.

Since he took over there, LSI Logic has been somewhat more dynamic than it was in previous years. ยต
