Intel China overclocks Intel US by factor of 3X

IDF Spring 2008 Twenty years and the CAGR is great
Tuesday, 1 April 2008, 04:49

INTEL CHINA'S MD told us today in fluent Mandarin that in last 20 years the firm has just growed and growed like topsy.

He produced figures showintg that in 2007, Intel's CAGR in China was 17 per cent, compared to US growth of about five per cent.

Which clearly shows, if we understand the man right, that America is in decline compared to China.

Nevertheless, the MD of Intel China showed enthusiasm for the Intel luminaries such as Robert Noyce, Andrew Grove and, er Paul Otellini.

america in decline

if you are referring to intel, well it is logical to see any major company removing anything not relating directly to the sales of a product from the US. If you are referring to the US economy in decline and are unsure as to the truth of the statement, let me put it in simple terms.

I am not sure if this colloquialism rings home, but for state side folks, going to hell in a hand-basket aptly describes that sinking feeling. The US is one step further down the line. The hand-basket IS in hell and we are just waiting for the dry, parched wicker to show visible signs of what we already know to be true.

re. America in decline

5% growth is still GROWTH. Duh. If you think our economy and our country are in decline I think you are sadly mistaken. I wonder what political party you belong to? Perhaps the very same America Haters Inc that would love nothing more for America to fail so that they can rebuild it in their image?

We are not in recession yet and even if we do have a retraction, we still have a $13 trillion dollar plus economic engine. That is greater then the next top 4 combined. Get a clue already.

America in decline...Possibly

But would you want to live in that hell hole? under that government, with that pollution, with no rights? No matter how much we americans complain, bitch and tear down our own government, we still know that it is our country, not the other way around.

So, if it make you happy to say America is in decline, just think about how the next super-power will be treating you.

Enjoy!

CAGR

The compound annual growth rate for Asia's portion of Intel's business has largely eclipsed that of the US for years now. 5 or 6 in a row, I think.

Is it a surprise to you that the economy in China is booming while that of the US is slumping?

re. USA

For growth rates it isn't hard to point to "next to nothing" versus a little something and then extrapolate an impressive looking curve now is it?

Obviously Intel is very well established already in the good ole US of A. Just like with the American auto industry, 16 million plus is nothing to sneeze at. Is it still growing? It is relatively flat this year; we are at the point of virtual saturation until the next big population explosing. Do the auto giants say, "gee there isn't impressive growth, so lets ignore it." That would be suicide.

I have no doubt that China will continue to grow. I say good for them. However if they think they are the end all be all when it comes to global manufacturing they should think twice. Already the cost of living is rising rapidly there and now there are other smaller nations starting to eat "their" lunch.

The next 10 years will be interesting to say the least. How will they adjust? Since they are desperately trying to get large numbers of their people to learn English they realize they need to emulate Western countries and become a moving target. Lead, follow or get out of the way?

Time will tell, always does...

a $13 trillion dollar plus economic engine

and might it fly me to the moon? of course! then let's make it $64/512 trillion. What's the difference; indeed! The weak dollar is a reflection not only of inflation but diminished buying power. What do you say that you all took a half reduction in pay. Deal or no deal? To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. On with the big brotherhood fuedalism in the company of strangers.
Economic Domino theory:
"It doesn't happen quite that quickly, of course. It takes time for the economic turmoil to bubble up into a default. When the local currency is devalued, it makes it more expensive for the business to buy supplies to make its products, which means that they must raise prices to sell the products profitably. Because the products are more expensive, consumers buy fewer of them, which sends sales and corporate profits plummeting. Investors try to sell the stock, but no one wants to buy it so they have to sell at a loss. This tendency causes further gluts in the market, which eventually leads manufacturers to slow production. They lay off workers, causing domestic consumption to fall further since there is less money to buy goods. These effects ripple throughout the economy and create a deflationary spiral that can lead to a recession or even a depression." Only, this is a global scale beyond our control.
Of course the wretched indebted poor, Les Misérables, get the bite of offshore Dracula first. Our huge engines of profit are gluttoning so, let's feast on our sacrificed selves. There's a hole in my (kick the) bucket (list). The death of higher wages is sin. The utter corporate disregard for fair profit margins equitable to buyer and seller is tantamount to revolution, or regulation in the least. Why should my heart be bled for wealthy invested parasites? I should be heavily medicated for your protection. Alas, the cookie jar is empty. I must sell it now to buy ammo? To everything there is a season. Republicans are now in because their policy is helping the terrorists to win. The sickle? I'm republican too, when I can afford the luxury.

Intel in China is Growing in Units of Production, However, National Price Control prevents any real Monies to be Made. National Price Control is Heart of COMMUNISUM.Its' Chinas' Strongest Point.

As Poster Suggested, US is in for Pains ofGrowing, while being over 70% ineffiecient. Theres little Hope for these 300 millions, except to sit back & Watch Billion Oriental Citizens Storm Border, if Chinese Choose to Use OUR previous imported Fuel for making More People There. Its Get Even Thing from 1882 Asian extradition Act of US Congress compounded by 1888 Asian Extermination Act of US Congress. It Really reduced WEST Coast Population of Chinese.Yet, They just might want to get Back At US.Wear Your Numbers.

5% growth ,lol

More like 13 trillion debt, heck lets build a bridge to nowhere as that is the dead-end the current staff of Nazi has brought us too. The current mind set of those in power is If I have to run over granma to get ahead, well she was old anyway and soon to tap SS which we have already blundered anyway . And surely do not forget that great saying " no child left behind",well not a rich one anyway.
