File system for Longhorn clarified

It will be NTFS, only
Tue May 13 2003, 10:59
A STORY ON A SOFTWARE web site, said that a Microsoft executive has confirmed that future OS Longhorn will be the only supported file system.

But, the site adds - and all Winders users will breathe a sigh of relief at this - Longhorn will continue to support "legacy" file systems including FAT and FAT 32.

The same site claims that WinFS is not a file system but a service that perches on top of NTFS.

There's more of this interesting stuff from well known Windows man Paul Thurrott, here. ยต
