A BLOKE has flogged his AOL 1.0 Startup Disk on Ebay for $9,214.

Todd Farmer, of West Chester, in the US, actually paid for his AOL disk when it first came out. In those days they didn't give them away.

The 5.5-inch floppy, double-sided, double-density in its original packaging has been a bit of a bone of contention with Todd and his wife.

She was feed up with the sight of it. She told Glossy News that she thought it was mad that Todd had "that stupid thing framed and hanging in the front room". He had it there before they got married and that was eight years ago.

She even tried to sneak it into the rubbish, but he kept fishing it out. Todd had the last laugh. The money flogging the disk is paying for a holiday for them both to Hawaii and perhaps a nice patio extension for the wife. µ
