Internet fraud ring broken

Spanish coppers arrest 76
Monday, 11 February 2008, 10:49

INSPECTOR Knacker of the Spanish Yard has fingered the collar of 76 people as part of the biggest investigation into Internet fraud.

According to AFP, coppers claim that the suspects defrauded their victims of over three million euros by offering tellies and cars for sale online and then disappeared with the money without ever delivering the goods.

Other people arrested illegally obtained the codes of online bank accounts and then carried out money transfers to their own bank accounts.

Apparently, 47 of those arrested were Spaniards. However there were also five Ukrainian nationals, five Guineans, four Romanians, two Russians and two Moroccans who were also cuffed and stuck in the back of a paddy wagon.

Hold it right there.

Who gypsyed the paddywagon? Shorely not the five Guineans from Guinness.

3 mil duros for cars bought with online bank accounts, without inspecting under the bonnet or taking it to the circus?! What about shipping, license tax and fees?

I expect they were offering a sale...

If I make that Nigerian transfer, I may be able to bolster my sagging bottom line enough to have the lolly for a lorry with a telly in the cubby box, and make myself a traveller with a capital T!
