BRIT COMPANY British Telecoms is in on the war against spam, apparently. The company is implementing a brand new fully automated "spam buster" system, which is designed to track down full-time spammers and customers with nasty botnet infections on the BT broadband network.

The system, called Content Forensics and designed by StreamShield Networks, will check tons of e-mails a day and sending reports directly to BT about any problems of the spammy variety. Caught spammers will be added to a blacklist which will be shared with the rest of the industry.

Stratis Scleprais of BT Retail said in a press release that he and his company is "delighted to work with StreamShield Networks" and is also pretty excited about helping "customers overcome the threat of infection by bots."

The chosen anti-spam 'solution' was picked by BT after extensive testing, supposedly. Simon Gawne, StreamShield Networks CEO says that he's excited about BT's choice and that "we look forward to working with them in the future." µ
