Although the software does not damage the computer or try to do anything wrong, the venders say that Ask Jeeves should not install the software without telling the computer user upfront.
Sunburst claims that Ask Jeeves buries the fact in a disclosure document.
According to Sunbelt president Alex Eckelberry, it is wrong that people should have a machine cluttered up with a lot of stuff without pre-knowledge of such clutter.
He said that it was really simple for Ask Jeeves to tell computer users and the outfit needs to do some work on their distribution channel, so people are provided with adequate notice and disclosure.
Sunbelt's anti-spyware program flags up the Ask Jeeves Bar, the Excite Speedbar, iWon Co-Pilot, My Global Search, My Search Bar, My Speedbar, My Web Search Toolbar and the Need2Find Toolbar. My god.
