S.T.A.L.K.E.R. goes back to the future

GSC IS WORKING on a prequel to original Stalker game, launched couple of months ago.

The story places you prior to events from the original game, Shadow of Chernobyl, focusing on your duel with one of main characters from the SoC, talking about its origins.

Developers say they have been working on the game for some time and that S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky will be available in 2008

It turns out that you are working for a rival faction and you have to kill your adversary. Given the fact that he was standing and talking with you in the Shadow of Chernobyl, it seems that you fail to whack him. Perhaps you decided to give your old ways and become a member of his team… anyway, devs don't want to talk about the story too much.

IF it ships at around a year after original title shipped, it'll be a surprise. We would advise you to take that announcement with a grain of salt, but we hope for the best.
