HAVING RECENTLY REVEALED that it is stepping into the server market, Lenovo has also unveiled a range of new monitors that are supposed to be super energy efficient.
The new Thinkvision line-up consists of six new models, the L1700p, L1940 Wide, L1940p Wide, L2240p Wide, L2440p Wide and the flagship L2440x Wide monitors, which all use between 30 to 60 percent less energy than previous Thinkvision monitors.
The L2440x Wide is Lenovo's first 24-inch, low-halogen display which uses white LED backlighting to bring the monitor's typical power consumption down to 29W. It also supports Displayport.
The new range offer contrast ratios of up to 1000:1, 5ms response time and 1920x1200 resolution.
"We are committed to offering users environmentally-responsible technologies with 17 Thinkvision monitors that are EPEAT Gold rated, of which 11 are also GREENGUARD certified," boasted Tom Shell, vice president of visuals at Lenovo.
Even the packaging is made up of 65 per cent recycled materials.
We don't having any prices yet, but the L1700p monitor is available from tomorrow through Lenovo Business Partners and the company's site. The L1940 Wide is also available from tomorrow, but is limited to European markets, while the remainder are all due out in early October. µ
