Vista gets release dates

Office 2007 too
Thu Nov 02 2006, 12:39
WELL PLACED sources have informed Apcmag that the release dates for Vista have been set in place.

Tuesday November 30th should see the release of Vista to corporate customers, and standard retail customers purchasing from stores or OEMs should be able to get their copy of the new Microsoft operating system from Tuesday January 30th 2007.

It's planned that Office 2007 will be released in parallel on the same days respectively, ensuring a bumper Christmas for Microsoft's bottom line.

Microsoft should officially announce the dates shortly.

Vista fans have been eagerly awaiting the final RTM build of the operating system that will be released to manufacturers for production.

The RTM build is expected any time from now onwards but should see the light of day by the middle of this month at the latest.

A last minute bug pushed back the final release by a week - lets hope they get the majority ironed out before it's decided they can't wait any longer.

Immediately on release of the final build, expect a deluge of reviews, benchmarks, and moans from the INQUIRER team. µ
