Thursday, 7 September 2006, 22:22
IN JULY back at SIGGRAPH 2006, Nvidia launched the new Quadro Plex 1000 card. Now it is finally ready to show it to the Euroland inhabitants. The new card in its maximum configuration is worth $17.500,00 and this might be the Nvidia's first external graphic card. The card is actually an alluminium case containing one of three possible hardware configurations, ranging from two to four GPUs.

The new Quadro will be introduced by PNY at the upcoming IBC 2006 show in Amsterdam. The new Quadro can process the multiple streams of 4K high definition video, 3D styling and design, scientific and medical visualization, oil and gas exploration, or visual simulation and training.

It is the holy grail of CAD / CAM users and we don't even doubt it's a fast, mean and expensive machine. You can bet that automotive industry will grab almost complete prodcution of it. µ
