WE HAD a chance to chat with some nice people from Imagination Technologies - a company well known for its Kyro graphic marchitecture and the owner of Power VR.

The firm makes graphics chippery which finds its way into boards made by seven out of the top ten chip makers, including ones from Intel as the leader of this market, as well as second-placed Samsung, third-placed Texas Instruments, plus Renesas, NEC, Philips and Freescale.

Imagination Technologies is much stronger than ATI and Nvidia in this sector.

We learned from the horse's mouth that the whole range of upcoming Sony Ericsson phones uses a Philips PNX4008 chip that is powered with its latest PowerVR SGX marchitecture.

We had a chance to speak with a CEO of the company Hossein Yassaie, Tony King-Smith VP Marketing (Technology Division) and David Harold a PR chap.

The PowerVR SGX design features in the 3G capable W950i as well as the business-oriented P990, the text-messaging M600 and a Chinese version branded as M600c. Since the M600 is a full keyboard phone, we wonder how many keys the Chinese version will have?

The chaps said that in the future, mobile television dispalt technologies will be where it's at. ยต
