Northwood with 512K cache?

Hardware Sitewatch

THANKS TO TR for this link to PROM.

This piece mentions a Northwood sample doing the rounds and the numbers 512 and cache appear together. Now it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility for La to do this - after all, it has performed a similar miracle with the Pentium III-S as opposed to the Pentium III-M.

It also wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility for La to introduce it in a server platform first...

La Intella might want everyone to wait for the Intel Developer Forum before launching their own i845-SDRAM boards, but that's unlikely to happen and Supermicro may just have jumped the gun.

And a pic of a 2GHz Pentium 4 has tipped up in HardOCP's forum. And the main page has some interesting info about hard drive temperatures.

Tom's Hardware Guide casts its peepers over the phenomenon that will be Windows XP and you can find that here.

A guide to value systems, all of which use Durons, can be found at Anandtech.

There's a review of the Soyo K7V Dragon ATX mobo over at Socket A.

Chillblast is giving away prizes every week to help give its forum a boost. The first prize is a brand new Silverado but the guys say there will also be a 1.2GHz Palomino up for grabs for the next six weeks. µ
